The post offers an exciting opportunity for a part time Band 3 Health Care Support Worker within the Community. The successful candidate will undertake work allocated by Health Visitors across the North East Locality Children and Families Teams. The post will be based across 2 bases in the North East. The hours will be across Monday to Friday.

There is a strong focus on the Healthy Children’s Programme and the targets to improve outcomes for children and their families, with emphasis on parenting support, including Triple P, baby massage and supporting families living in poverty.
The Locality and the Team has a robust support structure with mentoring/training provided as well as a robust induction plan as required. You will be expected to provide accessible, appropriate, high quality, culturally sensitive and effective support within the health visiting teams. The Teams have a good balance of skill mix including, Health Visitors, Community Nursery Nurses, Dental Health Support Workers and Health Care Support Workers with a dedicated Team leader.
Essential for the role: SVQ level 3 but keen to also consider experience relevant to the role.
The role requires:
engaging in regular support of family/parents/carers and children,
including supports around financial inclusion and parenting
The ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
Ability to work without direct supervision.
Good communication skills both written and verbal.
Experience of working with children.
Ability to work with vulnerable children, young people and families.
Basic computing skills.
This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check.
You must be flexible to meet the needs of the service.
Interviews will take place approximately 2-3 weeks after closing date and short listing completion.
The hours are worked Monday to Friday
