Job Advert

A new opportunity has arisen for an exceptional, successful, collaborative and dynamic senior leader to join NHS Golden Jubilee, a National Health Board providing national and regional clinical services for NHS Scotland.  The Deputy Director of Finance will support the Director of Finance and ensure the cohesive and proactive management and development of a wide strategic portfolio including Finance, eHealth, Procurement, Facilities & Capital Projects and Performance Management.

The post holder will work at the most senior levels within the organisation, working closely with Executive and Non-Executive Directors and Senior Clinical and Operational staff, while also representing the organisation with other NHS Scotland Boards, Scottish Government and a range of external stakeholders. This will involve strong operational experience combined with a values-driven leadership style that will enable you to inspire and motivate staff. These qualities will help you to deliver the vision and goals of the organisation.

You will support the Director of Finance in the overall management and performance of the Finance Department and wider portfolio, both in the functional role of delivering consistently strong financial governance and financial management, and supporting organisational growth in the wider strategic role.  You will ensure our growing organisation maintains the appropriate focus on resources to deliver on its service commitments, and the needs of the organisation into the future.

While the Finance Department will be a pivotal area of your responsibility you will also drive forward the wider business portfolio to ensure a strong governance and performance framework is embedded in the key areas of eHealth, Procurement, Facilities and Capital Projects and Performance Management.

We are keen to hear from candidates who are able to evidence robust financial management skills and a strong track record of delivery and achievement across a range of strategic priorities.  Leaders who can bring strategic skills, business acumen and political astuteness, with the ability to influence at the most senior levels, challenge and engage people, and ensure we secure the best possible value from our resources.

We welcome candidates from a range of backgrounds who bring ambition, commitment and energy and who have experience of working at a senior level in a complex environment, with considerable focus on the effective investment of resources.

In this role, you will lead through an exciting period of change. As a specialist centre of excellence serving patients from across NHS Scotland, we have a wide range of collaborations.  In addition, our business portfolio is also expanding, incorporating the National Treatment Centres expansion programmes, NHS Scotland Academy and Centre for Sustainable Delivery.  You contribute to driving forward these and other developments, introducing new services to improve efficiencies and bringing new ideas and established experience.

These changes are an opportunity for us to not only improve care for our patients but also to strategically lead on the implementation of innovation and best practice for NHS Scotland. You will represent our values and inspire trust from the team to lead through this period. You will value the diversity we have within the team and seek to foster a supportive environment for our staff.
