An opportunity has arisen for a full time Technical Supervisor (Building) to work in the Estates Department within the Facilities Directorate of NHS Grampian.

The post will be based initially at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, however this post will be required to work across all of Grampian to meet the demands of the service.  

We require an enthusiastic, flexible and motivated individual to work within a team that is committed to delivering quality physical works projects in support of the corporate aims of NHS Grampian. The successful candidate will be a team player with good organisational abilities, good communication skills and be able to prioritise their workload.  

Relevant previous experience of technical supervision in the building construction sector is essential, ideally with experience of working in NHS setting. The post requires the minimum  of a degree level recognised construction industry qualification in a building related discipline and the candidate should ideally be a chartered member of a professional institution e.g. MRICS or equivalent.   

The post involves ensuring physical infrastructure projects are designed and built in compliance with relevant statutory, technical and NHS specific standards and guidance. The post holder will be required to deal with a range of multidisciplinary teams of construction and health professionals.

The candidate will require to have a comprehensive knowledge of the technical standards applicable to buildings and their environment, ideally in NHS setting, and be able to interpret and advise on highly complex technical specifications to ensure buildings are completed to the highest quality standards. The post holder will be required to demonstrate previous experience in the technical supervision of significant sized construction projects and all aspects of technical commissioning leading to handover.

Knowledge and experience of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Email are essential as is familiarity with CAD drawing packages and construction related document management systems.. Previous experience of NEC3/4 is important. Current driving licence essential.
