Do you have an interest in Pharmacy and medicines? Do you want to work in a caring profession? Do you want to work while you study? If so we want to hear from you!

This is an exciting opportunity to train to become a pharmacy technician within NHS Lanarkshire while working across hospital, primary care and community settings.

Pharmacy technicians are an integral part of the pharmacy team, they also work within the wider multi-disciplinary team to ensure patients have safe and appropriate access to medicines in a wide range of healthcare settings.

Trainees will undertake the “SQA Diploma in Pharmacy Services” over 2 years which combines the:

  • PDA in Pharmacy Services at SCQF level 7 (via distance learning) and
  • SVQ in Pharmacy Services at SCQF level 8 (on the job vocational training)

On successful completion of the training you will be required to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council in order to practice as a Pharmacy Technician.

To apply for this exciting position you must have a minimum qualification of:

National 5 in Biology, Chemistry, English and Mathematics at grade A-C (or equivalent)

Or

NC Applied Sciences (Must be Chemistry and Biology based)

*Annex 21 Trainees are paid a percentage of the pay band maximum for the qualified rate which is dependent on the duration of the training period (see terms and conditions).
