We have an exciting opportunity for an Energy & Environment Officer to join our team at Law House
The post holder will support the monitoring, management and control of all utilities including, gas, oil, LPG, electricity, water, wastewater and trade effluent across NHS Lanarkshire sites to avoid waste and minimise costs. The post holder will also seek to provide technical advice and support for energy efficiency / carbon reduction projects to ensure that the best service is provided within budget, and on time, for the benefit of patients, staff and visitors.
On environment, the post holder will provide professional support and leadership on the planning and implementation of strategies, policies and guidance to progress NHS Lanarkshire’s performance on National and NHS objectives on net-zero, climate change adaptation, sustainable development, biodiversity and energy / environmental management and be responsible for setting annual savings targets with supporting plans and monitoring performance against these in respect of energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions and water consumption.
The post holder will support the Head of Sustainability on ensuring compliance with DL (2021) 38 – A Policy for NHS Scotland on the Climate Emergency and Sustainable Development and provide support for National and local behaviour change and staff awareness programmes that will encourage the co-operation and participation of staff in reducing energy consumption and waste in areas under their control.
