Job Advert

This is a new post and exciting opportunity to deliver psychological services within the Moray–based Drug & Alcohol Service. Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for this permanent post in the Drug & Alcohol Service. We are seeking an applicant with experience of providing psychological services in substance misuse to help develop and support the delivery of range of psychological services. The post holder will provide a specialist clinical psychology service to adult service users with mental health and substance misuse problems.

The post holder will have a HCPC recognised post-grad (Doctorate) qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology, hold HCPC Registration as a registered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist, and have suitable experience in substance misuse services, preferably within the NHS.

The post holder will be a member of the multi-disciplinary team in the Moray Drug & Alcohol service. The role will be supported by a local consultant psychologist, a Consultant Professional Lead in in the Specialisms Directorate (NHS Grampian) and senior management in substance misuse.

This role provides an exciting opportunity for a psychologist to deliver evidence-based highly specialist interventions to a population with complex needs and challenges. It also provides ample opportunity for the individual to work at strategic level to develop interventions and training packages and to support and supervise non-psychologists in the delivery of low intensity interventions. Grampian Psychological Services have strong links to the University of Edinburgh/NHS Scotland Clinical Psychology Training Programme and there are opportunities to become involved in teaching as well as offering clinical placements to trainee clinical psychologists.

Moray lies in the north-east of Scotland, with coastline on the Moray Firth, and borders the areas of Aberdeenshire and Highland. The area offers a wide range of recreational activities such as golf, fishing, hill walking, surfing, canoeing, cycling, horse riding and winter sports. This is an opportunity to live and work in a beautiful part of Scotland that offers a great quality of life and has good transport links with the rest of the UK.

Interview expenses are available to all candidates and an attractive relocation allowance of up to £8000 is available to the successful candidate.

Informal enquiries are welcome.
