Applications are invited from experienced clinicians who have a broad range of clinical skills for the above posts within the Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapy Service based at East Ayrshire Community Hospital and HM Prison, Kilmarnock. The majority of the caseload consists of musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions, but in addition you could be referred patients who have multiple pathologies. As a Physiotherapist in MSK you will have a special interest in the management of musculoskeletal conditions to work within MSK services in NHS Ayrshire and Arran.

You will provide direct clinical care, which encompasses advanced physiotherapy assessment, treatment and management of patients with musculoskeletal disorders, such care will be delivered either Face to face or by telephone/ near me video consultation. You will contribute to the working of a physiotherapy team but be expected to work independently for the majority of the day. Continuous professional development, evidence of post graduate development and experience in MSK is essential to this role.
Within HMP Kilmarnock, the post will provide MSK Physiotherapy as part of the Prison Health Care team working in partnership with Serco and the Scottish Prison Service (SPS). The post holder will work alongside colleagues, including other Allied Health Professionals (AHPs).
This post offers developmental opportunities to gain knowledge in Rheumatology, Pain Management, Primary Care Services, Orthopaedics, Complex Case Clinics, Emergency Department and Occupational Health. This knowledge will help enhance the established MSK pathways.
It is essential that you possess a Diploma/BSc/MSc in Physiotherapy and are HCPC registered.
A car driver is essential.
Hours: 37.5 per week. Permanent.
