Clinical Scientist

Applications are invited for an enthusiastic Clinical Scientist to assist in the provision of a comprehensive nuclear medicine service across Greater Glasgow and Clyde.  It is envisaged that in the first instance the post holder will work between the North East sector of Glasgow (Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Stobhill Hospitals) and the Royal Hospital for Children on the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Campus.  

The service provides state of the art SPECT-CT imaging, cell labelling and non-imaging.  On some sites DEXA imaging and elsewhere in the city PET-CT and molecular radiotherapy.   As well as a large routine workload there is plenty of opportunity for service development and research.    

The successful applicant will have an excellent chance to work as part of a large and enthusiastic multi-disciplinary team. 

Glasgow has a number of outstanding museums and art galleries, is the home of Scottish Opera and Scottish Ballet, as well as several internationally renowned orchestras.   The city is within 30 minutes of the beautiful Loch Lomond area and an easy drive to several ski areas.  The city is a perfect base for those interested in outdoor pursuits such as climbing, walking and mountain biking.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate evidence of experience in nuclear medicine or imaging.   Applicants must be state registered clinical scientists (Physics) on the register of the Health Care Professions Council.  Applicants should have a First or upper second class honours degree in physics/applied physics.
