Applications are invited for a full-time, permanent post of Band 6 radiographer / DEXA Radiographer (trainee) at Dr Gray’s Hospital, Elgin. Located in the north east of Scotland, 40 miles from Inverness and 70 miles from Aberdeen, Elgin is the market town for the county of Moray and in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who will integrate into a friendly team of professionals in this 150 bed district general hospital. This fully digital department provides a General Radiography service, including 24 hour A&E cover, Dental, Fluoro, CT, DEXA and Ultrasound.
The department provides services to Orthopaedics, Medical, General Surgery, A&E, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and also Theatres. There are busy outpatient clinics with a number of visiting consultants from Aberdeen and Inverness, as well as the 24/7 out-of hours service which is covered by an on call rota of approximately 1: 14. The service also caters for GP practices in the area.
The successful candidate is expected to have had 18 months post graduate experience in general radiography, with an interest in DEXA. Training will be provided for the DEXA component with the successful candidate expected to work autonomously in this modality by late 2019. They will be involved in Quality Assurance and Clinical Audit programmes and will participate in out of hour rotas. The department is committed to professional development and CPD.
