The post is designed to provide sub-specialist pleural medicine training and research experience for candidates pursuing Respiratory Medicine as a future career.

They will have the opportunity to train in Pleural Medicine and advanced pleural procedures, including Thoracoscopy.

The post-holder will be expected to undertake supervised clinical research, leading to the award of an MD/PhD. The focus of this research will coordination of the Phase III multi-centre EDIT (Elastance-directed Indwelling Pleural Catheter or Talc Pleurodesis) trial. The post will be available from August 2020 for a period of 2 years.
