As a Clinical Nurse Specialist managing patients with Epilepsy in patients with Learning Disabilities and associated symptoms, you are required to have had significant relevant experience jointly working within Learning Disability services and substantial epilepsy knowledge and experience, and have the knowledge and skill set to competently perform the necessary technical/invasive/physical aspects of care for this defined patient group, previous nurse specialist experience would be advantageous. As part of a clinical team under the leadership of Lead Nurse, you will be responsible for the delivery of a high-quality in- patient and outpatient clinics both hospital and community based, targeted patient groups including pre-treatment counselling and screening, monitoring of therapy/clinical response, urgent intervention and admission avoidance consultations. You must have the ability to work independently and possess excellent communication skills to manage the collaborative telephone advice lines / triage of incoming calls, in- patient referrals, interface with hospital and community based clinicians and general practitioners, delivery of clinical support with a high level of ITC skills. This post will facilitate change. You will be based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital you will work closely with other CNS`s within Neurology across the directorate to support the existing service where necessary. The shift pattern for this post is Monday - Friday. It is essential that you are currently a Registered Learning Disability Nurse with the NMC with significant post registration experience within the relevant speciality. Non-medical prescribing qualification is desirable or must be willing to undertake.
