Job Advert

fixed term / secondment for 12 months

A demanding and challenging post has arisen within the Research Development and Innovation Division for a person to act as a Feasibility and Set-Up Coordinator for all of the clinical trials and other clinical studies and projects within the Division, both in cancer and non-cancer. The post requires a very highly organised individual who will need to have a patient personality, but also be robust and able to deal with a large number of competing demands and individuals, including consultants, research nurses, data managers, research doctors, governance and QA staff, finance staff and also staff in radiology, labs, pharmacy, ECHO and a range of other support departments that have research activity.

The post entails working to often very rapid deadlines, gathering information to send out to NHS Highland staff who might be interested in a new study, obtaining data to complete Expressions of Interest or feasibility forms across all clinical areas, and returning this data to a large number of commercial and academic sponsors. This activity has to be kept up to date daily using a detailed tracker system. Following this part of the job, the successful candidate will be expected to organise all the different  meetings that form part of the set up process: this will involve liaison with NHS Highland staff and external organisations including pharma companies and contract research organisations.

This post is a new post as all of the functions have been  previously spread across the different parts of the Division, which has been found to be increasingly efficient, so the successful applicant will be expected to work with the Governance Team, RDI Manager, Clinical Teams and others to establish a better system. We would particularly welcome applications from experienced candidates.

Informal enquiries to Frances Hines, RDI Manager; tel: 01463 255912; email: frances.hines@nhs.scot or Laura McIlhatton, Governance Manager; tel:  01463 255087; email: laura.mcilhatton@nhs.scot

Closing date for completed Applications:  30th June 2021
