An exciting opportunity has arisen within NHS Forth Valley’s Health Promotion Service for a full- time (37.5hrs) Health Promotion Officer.
The post holder will support the delivery of national and local health strategies to improve health by preventing and reducing alcohol and drug use, harm and related deaths. Deliver targeted training including overdose awareness and effective intervention training and alcohol brief intervention (ABI) training. Work with a variety of partners to develop and deliver prevention and early intervention activities contributing to the Health Promotion Service Delivery Plan. This Delivery Plan contributes to national and local strategic priorities, including Scotland’s Public Health Priorities and NHS FV’s Health Improvement Plan.
The successful candidate will be qualified to degree level in a relevant specialist area and demonstrate a sound understanding of the health improvement policy agenda. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent project management skills and have experience of working with specific individuals, groups, or communities who are more likely to develop or be affected by drug use or dependence. People management skills are also essential as the post holder will be required to line manage staff. In addition, experience in research and evaluation, outcomes driven programmes and workforce development are essential.
Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is necessary for this post.
