Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £1,971 per annum (pro rata for part time posts)


The post holder will responsible for all aspects of driving to support the UK Government Covid-19 testing scheme Shetland Satellite Service and Covid-19 testing across Shetland as required. This will mainly involve the registration, distribution and collection of self-test kits, the packaging of the kits and transportation for shipment off Shetland for analysis at the Lighthouse Laboratories in Glasgow. They will carry out all required safety and maintenance checks on the van. They must hold a full UK Driving license with no serious convictions. They must be able to organise and prioritise their own work load, work to tight deadlines, and have excellent communication skills.


The Public Health Team provides public health services to NHS Shetland and the population of Shetland. The role of the team is to promote, improve and protect the health and wellbeing of the people of Shetland, to prevent ill-health and to reduce inequalities in health.
