Applications are invited for a locum Urology Consultant Surgeon based at University Hospital Ayr. The post holder will join a team of 5 Consultant Urologists, Nurse Specialists (uro-oncology and continence), Physiotherapists, Advanced Nurse Practitioners as well as day surgery, theatre, radiology and ward staff. The increase in workload across the range of sub specialty areas is such that the department would welcome applications from individuals with an interest to complement the existing team of consultants.
The Urology Department provides an area wide service covering a population of 367,000. The Department is based at University Hospital Ayr which is a modern general hospital opened in 1991. Within the Hospital the Urology Department is privileged to have a purpose built urology assessment unit which opened in 2002. The urology department is a progressive department fore-fronting developments in endo-urology, diagnostic services and service redesign.
This is a 10 programmed activity post although an additional EPAs may be available to meet the needs of the service. The successful candidate will participate in the on call rota on a 1:7 basis.
