Associate Nurse Director – Western General Hospital, NHS Lothian

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Associate Nurse Director to join the leadership team in the Western General Hospital and the Acute Division. This post will report to the Service Director with professional accountability to the Director of Nursing (Acute).

We are looking for a visionary, dynamic and courageous Associate Nurse Director to join our team.  You will be a clinical leader who understands the value of empowering those around them, someone ensures that the principles of quality, safety and compassion become enabling influencers as we build teams and services for the future.

You will direct and create a culture of multi-professional working, of continuous improvement and of innovation.  You will ensure that compassionate leadership is integral to the development of nursing services and that person-centred care underpins all we do.  You will lead nursing governance and strategy for the Western General Site and contribute to the development of local, regional, and national policies/services and well as lead key workstreams for the nursing across the Acute Division.

As part of nursing leadership role, you will have professional accountability for the NHS Lothian’s Cancer Services and support the development of the Edinburgh Cancer Centre as well as the service changes that are aligned to the Hospital master planning.

You will have excellent interpersonal and communications skills, have significant senior nursing experience, quality improvement experience and a good grasp of nursing workforce. Working with a diverse range of staff and will working closely with services across both Acute and the HSCP’s.

NMC Registration is required and education to Masters level or equivalent.
