To provide tailored clinical training to health and social care staff caring for people who have had a stroke, to allow them to perform their roles in an efficient, safe and effective manner.
Contribute to improving the outcomes for stroke survivors in NHS Lothian by supporting the development of a knowledgeable, skilled multidisciplinary specialist workforce.
The Stroke Education Facilitator role contributes to the practice learning environment by providing support, building an infrastructure, contributing to educational input and development activities for all staff working with stroke patients/clients and their families within Lothian area.
As part of the National Scottish Stroke Improvement Programme, in collaboration with Stroke Service Quality Improvement Board (SSQIB) colleagues, collate data relating to the delivery of stroke training to evidence the extent to which the Lothian workforce have been exposed to stroke education relating to defined parameters.
