Professional and clinical lead for nursing/midwifery services, within area of responsibility and as required across NHS Lanarkshire.
Expert practitioner providing professional leadership, support and advice within the multi-disciplinary team across NHS Lanarkshire.
Lead the development and implementation of a programme of clinical audit and research activity within the context of clinical governance.
Responsible for auditing, evaluating, implementing and monitoring clinical standards, and give advice, support, and contribute to the education of staff, as appropriate, within area of responsibility.
Carry out all relevant forms of nursing/midwifery care. Demonstrate procedures to and supervise registered and/or unregistered staff, as well as student nurses.
Provide a high quality, effective, safe, reflective and supportive environment in order to care for patients, meeting identified physical and psychosocial needs
Provide both professional and clinical leadership to all nursing/midwifery staff within the area of responsibility, which does involve diversity of specialty and/or sphere of work
Work collaboratively with the Associate Director of Nursing / Chief of Nursing Services / Chief of Midwifery Services /Service Manager and Site Director / General Manager to provide an optimum level of service for patients, relatives and carers within the area of responsibility.
