An exciting opportunity has arisen to join NHS Forth Valley as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner within the new Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) unit. This new unit will accept patients from various referral pathways within both primary and secondary care who require assessment and diagnostics but do not require hospital admissions. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who will help develop and drive this service forward.
The role will involve working across professional and organisational boundaries in partnership with other nursing and medical staff, allied health professionals and senior management teams. The successful applicant will provide direct patient management, have sound clinical knowledge and highly developed clinical decision-making skills in acute and/or primary care. 
The applicant should posses the ability to prioritise fluctuating workloads, remain focused, and be flexible in an extremely busy environment. The post will support part of the advanced practice team based in FVRH.

Competency is required in interpretation of:
•    12 Lead ECG
•    Chest X-ray
•    Routine blood results

Qualifications to be undertaken:
•    Non-medical prescribing NMC registered
•    Advanced Clinical Examination accredited course, preferably at level 11
•    Masters Level study.
•    Appropriate decision-making course in either primary or acute care at level 11

Preference will be given to applicants who have all, or some of the above qualifications however applications will be considered from suitably experienced nurses/paramedics as AP in Training under Annex 21 conditions.
