We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Nurse or AHP Consultant who can develop and support our specialist rehabilitation service across Grampian, ensuring strong clinical and professional leadership. The position will be based mainly at Woodend Hospital in Aberdeen and is a new post, which has been created by reconfiguring the medical workforce. The post is now offered on a permanent basis following the testing of this type of role over the last year.

The job plan for this post is aimed at expert clinical practice, strategic influence, leadership and professional leadership for patients & services within the neurological rehabilitation pathway. The post holder will work closely with the medical rehabilitation consultant in Neurological Rehabilitation Unit and will join a vibrant multidisciplinary team providing a Rehabilitation Medicine service across a range of settings in Woodend hospital, ARI and other community settings. 

The clinical aspects of the role will be to deliver expert clinical practice to patients across the neurological rehabilitation pathway with complex neurological presentations.  Using extended scope of practice as required the post holder will manage neurological cases and lead multi-disciplinary team input as an autonomous and lead practitioner for patients in the Neurological Rehabilitation Unit.  The post holder will provide clinical sessions for other parts of the neurological rehabilitation pathway including community outpatient clinics and other clinical activity.

The successful candidate will be joining a friendly team which works closely with a range of disciplines, including Bioengineering, Neuropsychology, Prosthetics and Orthotics. We work with acute colleagues at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, and have several Inpatient Rehabilitation Units at Woodend Hospital.  There is a range of community work undertaken by the service.  Our Department contributes to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes, and is engaged in research activity.
