Due to additional funding from the Scottish Government, an exciting opportunity has arisen for the appointment of 1.0 WTE Band 6 Practice Education Facilitator within the NHS Grampian Practice Education team (covering the Maternity Service). A new practice learning environment (PLE) allocation model has been developed to meet the requirements of the current NMC domains and proficiency outcomes and prepare the future midwife to work in Continuity of Carer models within maternity services.  Responsibilities will include supporting the implementation of this new allocation model.  The post holder may initially be required to blend working from home (in line with the guidance from the Scottish Government) with working from an office base when required. The location of the office base will be confirmed with the line manager on appointment. Regular travel may be required as part of the role.

We are seeking motivated, innovative registered midwives to be part of a team, led by a Lead Practice Educator, who together will be responsible for supporting practice learning environments and supporting pre-registration training and education.  They will also have the ability to work across NHS Grampian and engage with the nursing and midwifery workforce at all levels to implement change and support ongoing development of students, New Graduate Nurses and Midwives and nursing & midwifery workforce. 

Applicants should be a Midwife with current NMC registration and;

• Have experience at Band 6 or above, in posts which include supporting, supervising and assessing learners and should be a current Practice Supervisor/Assessor.

• Able to demonstrate an ability to motivate and influence change, using highly developed interpersonal and diplomacy skills.​​​​​​​
