Due to investment in dietetic services an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dynamic dietitian to develop and deliver the dietetic input to the upper GI (oesophageal, gastric and pancreatic) and colorectal cancer services in NHS Forth Valley.

The successful applicant will provide timely support and intervention to patients at diagnosis and through their treatment journey. Dietetic input will complement the existing ERAS programme and help support effective prehabilitation.

Working within the cancer multidisciplinary team the post holder will lead the dietetic clinical input and would be expected to plan and deliver appropriate training and education to the wider team, patients and carers. 

The post holder will have excellent wide ranging clinical dietetic experience, team working skills and excellent interpersonal skills. Experience of both acute and community dietetics would be advantageous along with experience in oncology services / complex nutrition support. ​​​​​​​

The successful applicant will possess excellent communication skills, and have relevant experience and a demonstrated interest in oncology/ nutritional support/ prehabilitation / multi-agency working.  They must be committed to personal and service development and improvement.   

This post will be based in Forth Valley Royal Hospital, with the potential for some remote working. 

The Forth Valley clinical dietetic team is a friendly and proactive team providing inpatient and outpatient services within Forth Valley Royal Hospital, 4 Community Hospitals and within Community Services.  This post will be part of a team of 33 dietitians providing a wide variety of clinical specialities e.g. critical care, renal, stroke, paediatrics, diabetes, IBS, home enteral feeding along with 5 dietetic assistants and an administrative team.  All team members are expected to actively contribute to departmental activities e.g. student training, department meetings and when necessary provide some cover to other parts of the service, including the department duty service. 

NHS Forth Valley is centrally located in Scotland with good transport links, easy access to major cities and spectacular countryside.
