Public Health Scotland is a new organisation between the Scottish Government and Local Government, working in partnership, to provide leadership to improve and protect the health and wellbeing of the people of Scotland.

Public Health Scotland launched 1st April 2020 with the formal status of a National Special Health Board employing around 1100 people, and with an annual budget of around £60 million, Public Health Scotland will provide authoritative information and services to support people and communities across Scotland. It will lead the national response to unforeseen health emergencies and will contribute to national and local government policy through its provision of robust data and intelligence.

Decisions for clinical practice or new medicines need to be based on good information. Some decisions affect sales, profits…etc. Decisions in health and social care affect lives.

That’s why the Clinical & Protecting Health Directorate of Public Health Scotland exists; to help decision makers make the right decisions for the health and wellbeing of the people of Scotland.  This post will work in a team of trial management professionals running a varied portfolio of clinical trials with a strong focus on Cancer and Quality of Life​​​​​​​

We want you if you...​​​​​​​

  • are educated to a degree level or have equivalent long term experience in working on clinical trials
  • have demonstrable experience in a Quality Assurance role with a solid understanding of clinical research
  • have a thorough understanding of the UK legislation on Clinical Trials and GCP with experience in Pharmacovigilance
  • Can provide expert advice Quality Assurance and regulatory guidance on to both internal, external, clinical and non-clinical customers.
  • Support the continuous improvement of the unit through delivery of an annual audit plan
