NHS 24 are recruiting for an Associate Medical Director – Primary Care

We are looking for an additional Associate Medical Director to join our growing medical directorate to provide clinical leadership and expertise to the 111 service, scheduled care and digitally delivered services across 24 hours.  This position is on a temporary basis with the potential to run until February 2025.  The successful post holder will be based in one of our West of Scotland centres, the position is full time, however part time hours will be considered.

Are you:

  • A member of the Royal College of General Practice, or equivalent, with significant senior management experience?
  • 10 years experienced in delivering general practice and primary care services as well as interface working with acute and community NHS services and colleagues.
  • Able to provide professional support and clinical expertise to multi-disciplinary teams of clinical and non-clinical staff?
  • Confident, resilient, knowledgeable, and personable?

About the Role:

As an Associate Medical Director – Primary Care you can make a difference, strategically, organisationally and locally (patients, staff and partners) across the whole of Scotland.  You are influential, a vessel for change and a medical expert whose knowledge and skills will be used across all NHS 24 clinical services and channels.  You can influence the development and delivery of digitally supported medical services and clinical decision support throughout the whole patient pathway.

We are one of 7 special boards and unlike a territorial board we have around 2000 employees, across 13 sites, which means we are more personable with staff having greater involvement and scope to innovate.

You will work predominately in hours however there is an on call rota for which you would receive a supplement for.
