With 19.5 WTE consultant posts, the department of orthopaedics at NHS Golden Jubilee is one of the largest arthroplasty units in the United Kingdom. The department performs c.3750 total hip and knee replacements and 600 foot and ankle procedures per annum.

There is an established enhance recovery programme, and a robotics programme with 2 MAKO robots and 1 ROSA. We also provide a tertiary revision arthroplasty service and have a large research department including industry funded research and use of a motion analysis lab.

This post offers an exciting opportunity to further develop services at NHS Golden Jubilee in purpose built new facilities as part of our Phase 2 elective expansion programme, which is due to open December 2023 with 5 new additional laminar flow theatres.

Applicants must be registered with the General Medical Council, be listed on the Specialist Register (or eligible to be on the specialty register, within 6 months of CCT OR CESR application submitted) and hold a higher surgical qualification in Orthopaedics from one of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons or equivalent, if from outwith the UK.
