This is a Fixed term post for 12 months
Applications are invited for the above posts commencing on 5th August 2026 for 12 months in the first instance. Please read the job description carefully, candidates who do not meet the essential criteria will not be eligible for shortlisting. Candidates who use AI will not be eligible for shortlisting.
This post will not lead to a CCT in the specialty, but time spent in this post may be beneficial in applying to specialty training in Paediatric Surgery or related paediatric surgical specialties.
Post holders will be expected to participate fully in the departmental educational programme and be subject to learning agreement and engagement with the ISCP process. Although these posts do not hold educational approval from the Postgraduate Dean, they will give valuable experience in paediatric surgical and associated specialities (general surgery, urology and Neonatal Surgery).
To practice medicine in the UK you need to hold both GMC registration and a license to practice.
Applicants who have not undertaken a UK foundation programme within 3.5 years of the advertised post start date, you may be asked to submit a Certificate of Readiness to Enter Specialty Training (CREST). The CREST form must be completed by a consultant who has worked with you for a minimum continuous period of three months whole-time equivalent wholly within the 3.5 years prior to the advertised post start date for which you are applying.
