We are looking for a highly-motivated and experienced Nurse Practitioner to work as part of our multi-disciplinary team. The ANP will be a member of the first response team for the provision of Urgent and Unscheduled care, including primary care home visits in the community, NHS 24, custody Care and Hospital @ Home level care.

This is a developing service and presents excellent opportunities for the development of skills and confidence, shaping the way rural healthcare is delivered within the remote-island location providing an unrivalled extra sense of responsibility and reward. Working closely with our resident GPs, Nursing Team, SAS and other primary and secondary care specialist clinicians. Peer support will also be provided from resident GPs and specialist teams throughout the Western Isles.

The service provides cover 0800-2030 including weekends.

The ability, drive and commitment to work as part of a team, sometimes at a distance, and to contribute to the local development of primary care and acute services is important. You will be expected to support clinical colleagues, including medical, nursing, mental health and Scottish Ambulance Service colleagues.

AI tools like ChatGPT or Copilot can be great for planning and preparing your application—but your answers must be your own.

Show us the real you: Your application should reflect your skills, experience, and motivations authentically.
Use AI wisely: It’s fine to use AI for ideas or to check spelling and grammar, but don’t let it write your answers.
Why this matters: Applications that rely on AI-generated content may be withdrawn. By applying, you confirm your responses are based on your own knowledge and achievements.
Tip: Think of AI as a helper, not a substitute. We want to understand you—not an AI tool.
