Community Psychiatric Nurse - MALE ONLY

Band 6 £43,231 - £52,679 per annum

Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £1,461 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and dynamic Band 6 to join the Uists and Barra Community Mental Health Team (CMHT).

The post holder will work collaboratively within the CMHT day to day, with the role being focused on offering interventions to Adults requiring support at a Primary Care level. There are opportunities for further development within a remote and rural setting. The Team work across the Southern Isles (Benbecula, Uists and Barra). Permanent team base situated in Benbecula.

The post holder will be part of a supportive team, working closely with the Nurse Manager, Community Psychiatric Nurses and Mental Health Support Worker. Main responsibility within the role is to develop and improve services for people over 18 years with common mental health problems within Primary Care and crossover into Secondary Care.

The role provides mental health screening assessments, risk assessment, medication monitoring, telephone triage, sign posting and brief intervention for people experiencing common mental health. Duties will also include supporting the Community Psychiatric Nurse Team Out of Hours Service (On average, 1 week in every 4 weeks On-Call).

The ideal candidate will be a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with current NMC registration, and be in receipt of a Full Driving Licence. As this is a community post, with requirement to drive across island for visits.
