An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic & motivated individuals to work within the Speech & Language Therapy Department in NHS Borders. These posts will support the work that the Speech & Language Therapists do, as well as picking up some admin & clerical tasks
There are 3 different posts available
Post 1 – Adults
Working predominantly within Borders General Hospital with adults who have communication & swallowing difficulties. Supporting SLTs with the creation of materials, admin tasks such as entering data onto our system, making phone calls etc
Post 2 – Children & Young People – base negotiable
Working within the Children & Young People’s Team creating materials, helping with admin & being involved with children & young people who rely on alternative communication; learning how to program these devices
Post 3 – Adults with Learning Difficulties
Based within the LD Office in Earlston this post will have a large component of work with AAC devices – programming & gaining information from clients
It would be helpful if the successful applicant had basic IT skills, but these can be taught. WE are looking for enthusiastic individuals with good people skills who can work well within a supportive team environment.
It would be useful to have a driving licence & have access to own vehicle for work purposes, but this can be worked round
These posts are fixed term 30 hour post for 6 months, but reduced hours can be considered.
