& NINEWELLS HOSPITAL

We are now recruiting for a 0.7WTE Clinical Fellow (ST1 Equivalent) in Emergency Medicine within Tayside. This post is primarily based in Perth Royal Infirmary for clinical shifts, with some rotation through Ninewells Emergency Department. The post is with an aim for immediate start and is fixed term until 9/12/22

Tayside Emergency Medicine aims to deliver high quality care in association with excellent training. Senior doctor support to clinicians working in PRI via telephone/Near Me is available 24/7. Both departments consistently perform amongst the best in the UK in caring for our patients within the 4 hour standard and are currently the best performing mainland Scottish board. This illustrates the importance of whole system working in achieving the best standards in person centred care, in the right place at the right time. The successful candidate should be able to work autonomously seeing a broad range of minor injuries and acute illness

Most of the consultants are experienced trainers and feedback from the GMC survey and Scottish Trainee Survey are consistently good.

Tayside ED’s see approximately 70,000 new patients a year and Ninewells is a Major Trauma Centre within the Scottish Trauma Network with a Prehospital Team based in the department.

Both departments are general ED’s seeing the full age range and variety of presentations ensuring a good breadth of training experience with specific policies in place to ensure the most critically unwell patients are brought to the right hospital first time.
