Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Voted the Best Hospital in Scotland awarded 2 years in a row and 1 of the best in a worldwide poll of the top 200 hospitals
Stobhill is a new ACT hospital with a Surgical Day hospital and rehabilitation Stoke and Elderly Care Services areas. Lightburn Hospital is a Rehabilitation DOME hospital in the East End of Glasgow
Posts include flexible, fixed term to permanent posts available - from 15 hours to 37.5 hours.

Role models within GG&C North include highly visible Chief Nurse, Associate Chief Nurse and Lead Nurses. Areas that are recruiting are:
Emergency Care Complex – (Emergency Dept / Acute Assessment Unit)
The Emergency Care Complex at Glasgow Royal Infirmary comprises the Emergency Department and Acute Assessment Unit, managing approximately 350 patients per day. The complex cares for a varied range of patients from the North East of Glasgow.
Diverse attendances/admissions occur from trauma to specialist support of critical care, cardiac, medical, surgical, orthopaedic, gynaecology, urology, burns/plastics.
General medical wards
These include a variety of special services including diabetes, GI, rheumatology and a number of respiratory wards. The close working of medicine allows staff opportunity to develop skills within the medical day unit and across wards to develop skill sets putting nurse development as key to the service.
Medical receiving areas include a short stay ward with head injury patients. These patients are from emergency and GP pathways. Within their initial admission you will gain an essential assessment skill set including accurate NEWS scoring, and will learn to be proficient in vene-puncture and cannulation skills.
Care of Older People Services
Including Nurse Assessment associated with A&E frailty and close links with rehabilitation services and family networks.
Medical HDU speciality , Coronary Care/ acute Cardiology admission and Acute stroke and rehabilitation services
Nurses will develop high acuity nursing skills. This area accommodates Level 2 patients under a model of advanced nursing support including C.P.A.P. or cardiac monitoring. This patient group also include those requiring stabilising and preparing prior to admission to intensive care or step down from similar areas.
Area that includes invasive emergency procedures, support patients post cardiac interventions including from the Golden Jubilee. Experience will be gained in monitoring patients, cardiac and respiratory support.

Recovery and Theatre
GRI has 17 Theatres complex GI, general, urology, gynaecological, complex Orthopaedic and plastics surgery
Stobhill Day surgery 6 Theatres
Critical Care, Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Urology and Gynaecology
ICU and surgical HDU- complex trauma, surgical, orthopaedic, medical conditions and burns experience.
Glasgow Royal Infirmary has been presented with a national award in recognition of its excellence in the care of patients who experience a hip fracture.
General surgical wards comprise of complex upper, lower and Cancer treatments. ERAS pathways are promoting person centred rehabilitation from admission to discharge
Glasgow Royal Infirmary is a site of complex and regional services including robotic surgery developments in Gynaecological and urology services.
Speciality areas Burns and Plastics;
Burns and plastics have several day and inpatient wards with complex burns and complex cases across the West of Scotland and further.
General information
Shifts are 11.5 hours; some areas accommodate twilight shifts, day shifts or night shifts as well as patterns rotation between day and night.
