2 new permanent positions have arisen for a Clinical Coder to join the Medical Records -  Central Coding team based in the University Hospital Wishaw. 

The shift pattern will be Monday to Friday, 9 am - 5 pm.

The Clinical Coder will interpret and translate the clinical records for inpatient, day case, and outpatient episodes into international classifications to form part of a national and local data set ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with national standards and definitions and for use within the Electronic Patient Record (EPR).

The successful candidate will have achieved the following skills & attributes :

Health Records experience within the NHS dealing with computerised records.

Demonstrate knowledge of PAS modules and other systems.

Good knowledge of Medical Terminology Anatomy and Physiology.

Good knowledge of OPCS4 and ICD10 classifications gained by completing the official ISD training course.

This knowledge should be obtained by completing the relevant ISD training course.

To be able to use their own initiative and judgment in relation to complex clinical summaries.
