AfC Band 7 (pro rata) plus a High Secure Environmental Allowance of £1,390.20 per annum (pro rata) and a High Secure Clinical Responsibility Allowance of £3,336.48 per annum (pro rata)

The State Hospital, located in South Lanarkshire, is the high secure forensic mental health resource for patients from Scotland and Northern Ireland. Our principal aim is to rehabilitate patients, ensuring safe transfer to appropriate lower levels of security.
We have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced registered mental health nurse to join us as a Senior Charge Nurse.
You will be professionally and managerially accountable for the delivery of nursing care in one of the wards in the hospital caring for patients with mental illness. Essential for the role is the willingness and determination to drive forward innovative practice and to be continually looking for ways to improve the Service. Engagement with the multidisciplinary team is essential.
Experience of working in forensic mental health is essential and you must be able to demonstrate significant leadership experience.
The hours of work can be flexible however it is expected that, in order to lead the team and maximise MDT working, the working week will be undertaken Monday to Friday. There is a requirement to participate in out of hours site management which will require you to work, a minimum of, one late and one early shift per week and one weekend in five.
