Public Dental Service – Senior Dental Officer (Band B) 37.5 Hours per week

An opportunity has arisen for a Special Care Senior Dental Officer based at Coathill Hospital to work service wide within the PDS in NHS Lanarkshire.
The post holder will be expected to provide high quality dental treatment and further develop care for all categories of patients, within the remit of the Public Dental Service, who reside within the area. This post will have a significant commitment to providing dental care to patients on a domiciliary basis and for treating patients who have complex medical histories and for treating anxious children under inhalation sedation. Support will be provided from the team of experienced senior dental nurses and the post holder will join a small team of Senior Dental Officers
In conjunction with the Clinical Director and Assistant Clinical Director, the post holder will have responsibility for planning, developing and providing dental services for older people and those with Special Care requirements including patients who are medically compromised. The post holder will work closely with the other senior dental officers as part of the senior dental team to ensure that services are delivered within a robust clinical governance framework.
Applicants must have Full Registration with the General Dental Council, a relevant postgraduate qualification and at least five years’ experience in providing clinical dentistry.
