Financial Accountant - Finance Department

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Accountant to join the Finance Department in NHS Grampian. Reporting to the Head of Financial Services and Accounting the post holder will lead a team of 17 staff in the delivery of a number of core financial services processes.
The main duties will include:
- Responsibility for integrated accounts payable and accounts receivable service.
- Ledger account maintenance and reconciliation.
- VAT advice and compliance, financial monitoring/ performance reporting and preparation of accounts to trial balance.
- Statutory annual accounts/financial information presentation for publication.
The successful candidate will be a CCAB qualified accountant with strong technical accounting skills. Applicants should be able to demonstrate experience of staff management in a busy financial environment and a sound knowledge of International Accounting Standards. Relevant legislation, policies and procedures governing best practice in financial governance and account preparation.
In addition, applicants will be computer literate, possess good communication and presentation skills and be self-motivated with a flexible approach to working on their own initiative.
