This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post. 

The post holder is responsible for managing, developing and co-ordinating the local training and development needs of the staff within the Department of Laboratory Medicine.

The post holder will be responsible for the design, delivery and implementation of training and education programmes across all sites and the coaching, mentoring and assessing of all staff undertaking registration and specialist portfolios. The Education and Training Manager will also be responsible for ensuring that all staff undertaking further education are progressing in a timeous manner.

The post holder will assist the Education, Training and Development Lead in the development, implementation and delivery of a training and development strategy for the department of Laboratory Medicine.​​​​​​​
