Newbyres Medical Group is currently seeking a Practice Nurse to join our friendly, hardworking team on a part time basis.
We are a GMS Practice with a list size of approximately 8500 using vision/docman. There are 3 GP partners, 3 salaried GP, 1 existing PNs, 1 treatment room nurse, 2 phlebotomists and an admin team of about 15. Additionally, we are supported by two Community Physiotherapists, a Community Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technician, and a Primary Care Mental Health Nurse. We also have Health Visitors and Midwifery teams based at the Health Centre as well as the Wellbeing Service.
The Practice is based in the purpose built Health Centre, with parking on site. We are an easy commute against the traffic from Edinburgh.
We are looking for someone to work between 12 and 20 hours per week, with some flexibility as to how this is structured. We are ideally looking for 2-3 full days per week but would be open to discussions around this.
The role is varied and covers all aspects of general practice nursing including wound care, chronic disease management, Family planning, sexual health, cervical screening, travel and seasonal vaccinations and being active in health promotion and patient education. You will be comfortable accepting responsibility and enjoy working independently, within agreed guidelines. You will have good communication and IT skills, the ability to prioritise, and be able to work as part of a team.
We are looking for someone with a flexible manner and a willingness to deliver a high standard of care to our patients.
NHS experience is beneficial; however, applications from other nursing sectors are welcomed if transferable skills can be demonstrated.
