An exciting opportunity exists for proactive, experienced and confident individuals to join the Improvement Hub (ihub) within Healthcare Improvement Scotland. The ihub provides improvement support to the health and social care system and NHS boards focused on supporting our health, social care and housing partners to deliver improved health and wellbeing outcomes for people in Scotland. Our work is innovative and complex and focused on developing, testing and spreading a range of measures and approaches to drive safe, effective and person-centred improvements.
The ihub is looking for applicants with improvement expertise that can be applied to any number of topic areas, and welcomes applications from a wide-range of professional backgrounds and sectors.
The successful candidates will combine excellent improvement, communication and analytical skills with a high degree of self-awareness, experience of managing relationships in a collaborative environment and effective project and programme management techniques. The ability to build relationships and motivate people and organisations to drive significant change is a significant part of this role. Therefore strong communication, interpersonal and team working skills are required.
Scottish Patient Safety Programme
Acute Adult
The Acute Care Portfolio includes the Scottish Patient Safety Programme Acute Adult programme and work to support improved outcomes and experience for older people in acute care. A key element of the Improvement Advisor role is engaging with a wide range of stakeholders to develop and deliver complex programmes of work which currently includes a national improvement collaborative focussed on reducing falls and early recognition and timely intervention for deteriorating patients.
Scottish Patient Safety Programme
Maternity and Children Quality Improvement Collaborative (MCQIC)
The Maternity and Children Quality Improvement Collaborative (MCQIC) includes the Scottish Patient Safety Programmes for maternity, neonates and paediatrics. The work consists of developing new areas of focus (including, a caesarean section quality improvement programme) and supporting teams with the existing programmes aims.
Mental Health Improvement Programme
The Mental Health Improvement Portfolio works with partners across the country to help them develop and deliver improvement programmes with a focus on improving safety, access and quality. A key element of this role is engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including those with lived experience, to deliver a complex programme of work around Early Intervention in Psychosis.
The successful candidates will have undertaken lead level training in an aspect of implementation and improvement science and have practical experience of supporting service, organisational or system improvement in a variety of care settings.
This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a national improvement initiative that has a direct impact on care and outcomes for individuals across Scotland.
