This is an exciting time to join our team, as the Women & Children’s Directorate are now seeking highly committed Midwifery candidates, with proven experience working within a management role. Applicants should demonstrate leadership qualities with an enthusiastic and self-driven approach that makes a positive difference to patients, services and teams. Midwifery applicants should evidence an ability to thrive within a complex environment, foster effective partnerships, and promote standards for continuous improvement. The postholder will be mainly responsible for the Midwifery Teams at present.
The much-expanded Women & Children’s Directorate benefits from diversity and flexibility, providing services for women, children and young people within the home, community and acute hospital settings. These individual departments include a range of different disciplines and multi-disciplinary approaches. In turn you will be part of and supported by a senior management team who aim to nurture and develop outstanding leaders who can help the Directorate drive forward our journey of improvement.
The post will ensure associated expertise supports the Women and Children’s Directorate at all levels, contributing to a wide range of strategy and planning activities outside the Directorate, and delivering the Women and Children’s Strategic Plan in line with requirements.

Candidates will be required to discuss a 10-minute presentation evidencing:
‘Why Midwifery Care Matters to Women’ and how you would empower your teams to deliver a high quality and safe maternity service.
