Applications are welcome from candidates wishing to work either part-time as a Locum Consultant Nephrologist or full-time as a Locum Consultant Nephrologist and Acute Physician. This is a fixed-term 12-months post. The successful applicant will join a team of medical staff (3 Consultant Nephrologists and 1 Associate Specialist), Specialist Nurses, Allied Health Professionals and Pharmacy staff to provide a multidisciplinary approach for renal patients across the south west of Scotland.
The Nephrology Unit is based at Mountainhall Treatment Centre with outreach services to the Galloway Community Hospital in Stranraer, and Newton Stewart Health Centre. The duties of the successful applicant will include general Nephrology and pre-dialysis care together with the supervision of the peritoneal dialysis and haemodialysis services and transplant follow up. The Haemodialysis Unit is an 18 station unit in Dumfries with a 4 station satellite unit in Stranraer and a 3 station unit in Kirkcudbright Community Hospital.
