This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
To provide a comprehensive service for clients with substance misuse and related mental health
problems as part of a specialist substance misuse service, who have been referred from the Court in
accordance with the Crime and Disorder Act (1998). The post holder will promote and develop the role
of the D.T.T.O team.
To ensure clients receive high quality care and to ensure effective communication between all members
of the team and other professionals.
To manage own caseload including the assessment, diagnosis and specialist intervention for individuals
with substance misuse and related mental health problems, including follow-up when an Order finishes
successfully or otherwise.
To assist in the management of a team of Community Mental Health Nurses within a defined
geographical area reporting directly to the Nurse Team Leader, receiving direct reports from nursing staff
and the larger team. Provide guidance, clinical advice and support to all members of the sector team.
To act up in the absence of Nurse team leader.
To assist the Nurse Team Leader in ensuring quality of the service provided by the team and to
contribute to service development, including specialist training, advice and consultancy to related
professionals.
