Senior Pharmacy Technician
St John’s Hospital
Band 6
Salary Scale: £33,072 - £40,736
37.5 hours per week (This post will also support evening, weekend and public holiday service provision as part of the wider pharmacy team).
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacy technician to join our pharmacy team delivering specialist pharmacy services to the gastroenterology directorate. With input into the inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology services, you will have responsibilities which include medicines reconciliation, medication education, medicines procurement and an active role in pharmacy-led medication reviews. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the research and quality improvement priorities of the pharmacy and gastroenterology services. The successful provision of this service relies on multidisciplinary working and close links with other members of the pharmacy team across NHS Lothian.
You will have an enthusiasm for developing self and others, leadership and staff management experience and be able to demonstrate personal values aligned with the NHS Lothian Values.
Candidates must have a National Certification in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent, SVQ Level III qualification in pharmacy sciences or equivalent, an HNC in Pharmacy Services Development and Management or equivalent experience, HN Unit: Procedures for Pharmacy Dispensary Checking Technicians Or Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician Award (provided by Buttercups or NPA, 2019 or before), PDA – Assessment and Supply of Individual Patients’ Medicines, a D32/33 Work Based Assessor Certificate and registrant of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
