An opportunity has arisen within the Orkney Health and Care mental health services for an enthusiastic psychological therapist with substantial experience of working with children and adolescents with mental health problems.
If you are a confident, creative individual who is able to work independently and as part of a wider team then this could be the job for you. The post sits within CAMHS in Orkney which offer evidence-based interventions to address the mental health difficulties for the young people of Orkney.
The post holder will provide evidence based psychological, and profession specific assessments and interventions to children, young people and their families working autonomously within professional guidelines.
This job entails working with children, young people and their families at home, school or and the post holder will have clinical responsibility for own caseload. The post holder will provide high intensity psychological interventions to individuals referred to the service.
You should have substantial experience of working in as a psychological therapy practitioner. You must be qualified to degree level and hold a post graduate diploma in CBT, counselling, psychotherapy, or other relevant and equivalent therapy/psychology qualification e.g. a registered doctoral level qualification in clinical or counselling psychology
The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in Orkney is currently a small team. A significant investment from the Scottish government has helped CAMHS undergo redesign and a number of new additional posts will be advertised, substantially increasing the strength of the workforce, thus increasing the scope of services available locally to our children and young people. We work collaboratively with other local services and North of Scotland regional network. You would be an integral member of the specialist CAMHS services providing excellent patient-centred care for children with mental health problems and families in our community.
