An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified advanced nurse practitioner (ANP) to work within the secondary care environment in Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary which incorporates Medical  Assessment Unit and Hospital at Night service provisions. The ANP will provide expert care and treatment to patients within agreed protocols and clinical guidelines. Demonstrating a high level of practice and knowledge and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing professional and clinical support in the care of patients. However, they will also have the ability to make decisions outside these frameworks, where necessary based on best practice. The successful applicant will possess excellent communication and documentation skills, should be able to work well within a team, and demonstrate a keen interest.  

The post holder will be supported by a triangulation approach of academic courses, mentorship and clinical supervision. 


This is an exciting opportunity which will be remunerated at Band 7 for suitably quailed and competent ANPs (minimum post graduate diploma in Advanced Practice with Independent prescribing.Preference will be given to applicants who have all, or some of the above qualifications. This post will also be considered as in training position
