An existing opportunity has arisen to join the Primary Care Alcohol Nurse Outreach Service (PCANOS) - this post will be primarily based within the North West Sector of the service. PCANOS is a city wide service and at times staff may require to support patients from other sectors.
PCANOS works directly with Primary Care GP’s in offering a flexible, outreach model of working to engage patients quickly into Alcohol Care & Treatment support. The post holder will require to adhere to the NHS Lone Working Policy and will be responsible for managing their own community caseload within a defined geographical location. The post holder will have a key role in promoting and developing the role of the PCANOS Nurse offering a full range of comprehensive alcohol interventions including home supported detox, motivational, harm reduction and relapse prevention
The post holder should be a registered nurse who is highly motivated and has excellent communication skills. Knowledge & experience working within an Addiction service is preferable.
