LOCUM CONSULTANT GENERAL PHYSICIAN: GIM (WITH ANY SPECIAL INTEREST)
UP TO 6 MONTHS INITIAL DURATION (START DATE AND DURATION NEGOTIABLE)
Basic Salary: £87,534 - £116,313 + 3% on-call availability supplement
FULL TIME AVAILABLE (E.P.A.s negotiable)

Borders General Hospital is a modern and well-equipped 288 bed DGH serving the rural Borders area in South East Scotland, approximately 36 miles from Edinburgh. After an absence of almost 50 years, the Borders Railway has now opened, with train services to central Edinburgh running every thirty minutes (journey time 50 minutes approx). Tweedbank Station is a few minutes walk from the Borders General Hospital. On opening the railway Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth said "The Borders railway brings so much promise for sharing and invigorating this most beautiful countryside as a place to work, live and enjoy”. A relocation package/assistance up to full Inland Revenue limits with the possibility of temporary accommodation in the local area is available for the successful candidate.
The Role
The new Locum Consultant Physician will join a team of 18 physicians. You will participate in the Acute / General Medical take rota with other general physicians, with responsibility for ongoing care of medical inpatients. You may be a general physician (with any sub specialty), acute physician, a geriatrician or a stroke physician who can demonstrate general medical experience, we will seriously consider all appropriately qualified applicants.
Candidates must hold MRCP or equivalent and must also hold full registration with the General Medical Council with a licence to practice.
