Here in Ward 15, we have an exciting opportunity for 2 enthusiastic and motivated Staff Nurses to join our multi-disciplinary team on a temporary basis. We are looking for Nurses who are committed to providing the highest level of quality and safe care to Children and Young People. This is an excellent opportunity for you to develop excellent clinical skills in a range of paediatric specialities and is therefore a great opportunity for newly qualified or experienced staff nurses.
We are the first point of entry for patients admitted from the Emergency Department or directly from GPs. You will also work closely with colleagues in the Emergency Department and specialist teams both within the hospital and in the community to ensure that we provide the right care, at the right time. The department is comprised of a 2 bedded Short Stay Assessment Bay, 2 High Dependency Beds, 5 inpatient admitting beds as well as an Ambulatory Care Unit.
There will be the opportunity to gain experience in all aspects of Paediatric nursing across the department, whilst also supporting Children and Young People within our Day Procedure and Accident and Emergency Units. You will be supported to maintain your professional development through our Clinical and Professional Development department, as well as being mentored and taught by our own Advanced Paediatric Nurses, Specialist Nurses and Consultants with the aid of in-situ simulation and scenario training.
Any candidates should be a passionate, patient focused and conscientious nurse who works well under pressure. You should be able to problem solve and provide gold star nursing documentation to support patient care. Excellent organisational and communication skills are essential to working in this unit along with being able to work independently and flexibly.
You will play a vital role in supporting the Senior Charge Nurses, Charge Nurses and other Registered Band 5 nurses as well as well as working closely with our Health Care Support Workers on the ward.
These posts are on fixed term contracts for 12 months to provide maternity leave cover.
