An opportunity for a Band 5 Nurses fullt time and part time posts to work within Ward 3, a Nurse led 12 bedded post op Surgical Ward, which is part
of the Day Surgery Unit at the Victoria ACH. This post takes part in a rota which covers 24 hours from Monday to Friday, however this is subject to
change. This is a dynamic clinical area with a high turnover of patients. You will be a First Level Registered Nurse trained in general nursing or adult
nursing. Experience in a Surgical specialty is desirable, however training will be provided to the successful candidate to be a skilled member of the Ward
and the opportunity to rotate as necessary into the day surgery unit, 48 bedded Admission and Discharge area. You will be expected to provide the
highest standard of specialist patient care without direct supervision. The post holder should be a registered nurse who is highly motivated and
enthusiastic to be part of this team. You will be supported in expanding your knowledge and skills by our departmental practice development staff. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care and follow standards/protocols in order to give a quality service to patients You will possess the ability to work on your own initiative
but also as part of an integrated team is required. Furthermore, you will be expected where necessary to engage in multi-site working within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in order to achieve the needs of the service. As part of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s pre-employment checking for all appointed candidates, evidence of current NMC registration will be required prior to start date. You should therefore note candidates who are unable to provide confirmation of current NMC registration, in line with projected start date for this post, may not be shortlisted.
** Please note that at the moment, due to service disruption as a result of the
pandemic, Ward 3 is currently under the the Department of Medicine for the
Elderly. The status of this has been reviewed and will continue to be
reviewed. However, presently the ward remains under DME.
