Job Advert

We are looking to recruit a HCSW into the community nursing team within the Machars Home Team based in Newton Stewart.

The successful applicant will have experience of delivering person centred care and have an interest in providing palliative care at home, with an SVQ in Health and Social care being an advantage.

The service is a 24/7 service so we are looking for someone who is able to work varying shifts lengths and times, including night shift.  The post requires a lot of driving, especially overnight where the post holder will work with a registered nurse covering the whole of Wigtownshire.  This post is based in Newton Stewart although covers the whole of the Machars area which includes Glentrool, Port William, Whithorn, Creetown and Kirkcowan as well as smaller rural areas. There may be an occasional need to work in the Stranraer area and also the  occasional requirement to help out in other localities should the need arise.  This is an exciting time to be involved in community nursing as we move towards new ways of working which reflect the needs of the people in the communities we live and work in.

Experience in a HCSW role would be an advantage.
