South Ayrshire Treatment and Recovery Team are seeking an innovative forward thinking and creative band 6 Community Mental Health Charge nurse or Community Addiction Worker to be a key part of the team to enhance our existing services.
You should be flexible to work across South Ayrshire in order to meet service demand.
You will be working with service users who experience problematic substance use with co-existing mental health difficulties. You should be open to new ways of working and be able to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving and changing service, undertaking comprehensive clinical assessment and recovery focused treatment support to clients with a range of alcohol and drug problems including mental, sexual and physical health related issues within a community setting.
You will also be involved in the recruitment, development and supervision of staff nurse/addiction workers as well as service development.
Based in South Ayrshire, you will be willing to undertake further training/education to achieve addiction specific competencies and it is essential that you have an interest in and a positive attitude towards service users experiencing mental health and substance use issues. The Services would welcome applicants who will embrace contribute and lead change in practice and undertake additional training education and practice development.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are also essential.
You should be open to new ways of working and be able to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving and changing service, undertaking comprehensive clinical assessment and recovery focused treatment support to clients with a range of alcohol and drug complexities including, sexual and physical/mental health related issues within a community setting.
It is essential you have a professional qualification (Registered Nurse or Higher National Certificate level), or equivalent experience, in a relevant area, e.g. health, social care or drug and alcohol studies. You will have excellent communication and information technology skills. You will also have an excellent understanding of drug/ alcohol use and associated issues and a genuine desire to work with Addiction service users. It is desirable that you have experience of working in a community setting.
Hours: 37.5 per week, however would consider part time/flexible hours.
